  • Yahoo calendar events not showing on My Yahoo page?

Posted by admin on March 7th, 2010 and filed under events calendar | 2 Comments »

Recently my events on the my yahoo page quit showing. They will appear if I bring up the calendar but not on my page. I’ve checked all the options and I am not "hiding" anything . What am I missing? It worked just fine I joined Yahoo messenger.

I emailed Yahoo and they confirmed that this is a bug caused by their changes for My Yahoo beta. If you look at My Yahoo beta you will see that the calendar works there. Basically Yahoo seems to have decided that My Yahoo "classic" users are not important anymore, and that bugs that they introduce as they design their beta software don’t need to be urgently fixed. This problem has been around for about 8 weeks now as of this writing. Completely unacceptable.

Too bad that my yahoo beta is a cluttered ajaxified turd that doesn’t bother to support all the classic modules. It is not near ready for prime time, and I am not going to switch for years.

I’ve been using the calendar module for almost 10 years and am now severely inconvenienced as this is the most important module to me. I am thinking about switching portals, possibly to Google rather than letting Yahoo strongarm me into testing their beta portal.

It must be a glitch because I’ve seen this question many times. I went back to my reminders page, ensured every box was checked and clicked "Save" again and they started working again.
An answer I saw here stated: Please check to ensure that the email address "reminders@reply.yahoo.com" is not listed under the "Blocked Addresses" section of your Yahoo Mail Account. That’s where calendar reminders come from. Try both.
