  • How do I obtain sponsors for a charity event at my high school?

Posted by admin on March 12th, 2010 and filed under event | 2 Comments »

I am currently organizing a charity event at my school to raise money for kids with cancer and their families. The event is going to feature professional comedians and all proceeds with benefit this cause. How do I find companies to sponsor the event? How do i go about raising a lot of money.

Since it is your local High School I would approach all the local business firms. Call and set up an appointment, explain to them what you are trying to do and ask if you can depend on their support, and what can you put them down for.,
Once you have one sponsor you can use that as leverage in going to the other businesses.
Money is tight this year, but donations are a tax write off, so that may help, and certainly it is a wonderful cause.
Good luck and I wish you much success….thank you

First of all, of course, is to set your goal. "A lot of money" is not a real goal. Think about it and write down a number. The next thing you will realize is who are the people that possibly have that money. Make it clear why do you need their money and how can you asure them that the money makes it to the destination. Then invite every potential sponsor personaly explaining their ideas to them.
      Good luck.
