Im aplying to FIDM and majoring in visual comm cause thats the only way I know of getting my foot into the celebrity event planning door! ANY other suggestions please give them??..I have a serious pasion for this!
Most of the students that I knew in the visual communications program at FIDM wanted to become a planner of some sort. I highly suggest visiting the career center at FIDM and look for internships, sign up to work at fashion week, and try to get a job as a dresser at fashion shows (all of which is easy to come by at FIDM). I know it isn’t pretty work, but what I found out is that it is who you get to know backstage. The people who put on the events are great sources for information as well as contacts, and you get to meet some very famous people at these events.

Start event planning – do birthday parties, do events for schools. Get your family to let you plan their big events.
Offer to help a charitable organisation to get an event organised.
Start "branding" yourself and creating a reputation while you’re doing the course etc.
