What’s your opinion on disposable plates for corporate catering event?

I own a restaurant and will be catering a corporate cocktail event in LA for 200 guests. The attire will be formal (though not black tie). It’s more cost effective to use disposables (nice, high end disposables) but wondering if it’s tacky considering its not eco-friendly. What are you thoughts?

Hi,

I have just bought a camcorder for my company to film our own corporate events we run regularly, but a colleague has pointed out that it is illegal.

Is this true, or are there any regulations about this??

You must tell everyone they are being filmed. What is the intention of thes films, if for publicity or shown to the "outside" world, you should get signed releases for using their images (lawsuits for invasion of privacy or royalties rights) may occur.

What to wear at a corporate attire event?

Our school has an event on Wednesday and we have to wear corporate event. I don’t want to wear a blazer and slacks because I don’t know. It’s so boring and well, nowadays the people who wear blazers and slacks are the ones who like, give away flyers and brochures. No offense, but yeah. Is it appropriate to wear a brown plaid dress with a belt on the waist and black heels?

It depends on how long your dress is but I suppose it would be fine although a little casual.

Don’t be afraid of blazers! You don’t necessarily have to match it with slacks. Perhaps this outfit with blazer:

Corporate/Event DJ general career path and start your own mobile DJ after?

I heard that one can do pretty well being a mobile dj for corporate events and weddings is that true and what path would you recommend? Also, how outgoing do you have to be? What kind of pay can you expect when working for a mobile dj company and then if you go out on your own? What kind of demand is there for this sort of service? Thank you for your time.

For most DJ work it’s just weekends, but the pay is great working as an independent.
It’s not bad either, making a couple hundred per night for sub-contracting if the agency provides the gear & music.
Stage personas vary : Some DJs have a line of patter – blab blah blah, whereas I play music and take requests with quiet alertness.
The last thing you need to know is that DJs are currently a dime a dozen. Competition is VERY stiff.

A corporate event is an event a corporation throws.

A business event could actually be a multitude of things.

And a marketing event is an event that a business holds to market a product.
