What companies can I turn to for corporate sponsorhip for a fundraising event?

Posted by admin on March 16th, 2010 and filed under corporate event | 2 Comments »

I’m organizing an event whose cause is to donate money for building a hospital in India. I liv in Edmonton, Canada. Which companies do you think I can turn to, to ask for sponsorship? Thanks

If I were looking for corporate sponsorship I would target companies that have ties with India as they would be more likely to dish out money. I would then appeal to churches who have cultural ties with India. While appealing to churches you will likely find amongst them business owners and CEOs of companies that would be willing to provide sponsorship.

When looking for sponsorship i would make absolutely sure that I have all my facts documented and in a booklet handout along with DVDs with your future plans for this project. People including businesses are dealing with the global crisis so your presentation much be above board and professional enough to wow them into opening their purse strings. You can expect any sponsor to have your credentials scrutinized along with your long term initiatives.

Hopefully these suggestion are of help to you.

    Good Luck

I have a corporate event at a hotel that is listed as "resort casual". What is this dress?

Posted by admin on March 14th, 2010 and filed under corporate event | 5 Comments »

Just want to get some examples or guidelines as to what is considered "resort casual" and what is not. I know what business causal is and semi-formal, but have not heard a good explaination of resort casual.

Resort wear is a specialized clothing style, as well as a year-round fashion "season". Sometimes known as "cruise wear",

From walking shorts, caftans and sandals, to full-length evening dresses for women and light dinner jackets for men, resort wear is unique in its design and function. Resort wear is generally made from cotton, silk, denim, microfiber, straw and poplin that are easy to pack, lightweight and breathable. They are easy to clean and look great without ironing or fuss, much like the new hair styles that casual, yet very fashionable.

It is characterized by the "nautical" style, inspired by sailor and yachting themes, classic Hawaiian prints of palm trees and hula girls, brushed denim from San Francisco, bright floral prints from South America, minty greens, yellows, blues and whites from the Mediterranean and natural materials and glove-weight leathers from the Caribbean. Large hats, sunglasses, open-toed shoes and innovative waistlines complete the look of sun-soaked destinations. The style has already been the subject of small runway shows in New York, Paris and Milan.

Does anyone know of a reputable Corporate event location near Gordon NSW for about 100 people?

Posted by admin on March 12th, 2010 and filed under corporate event | 1 Comment »

I hate to say it depends…..but it does!

Different industries and companies require different standards. Also, is it a conference or lunch/dinner function?

There is a place on Mona Vale Road going towards Terry Hills (forgot the name!) on the left that does conferences and events etc. It is very close to Palm Lands Nursery.

You could also go to the Harbourview Hotel in North Sydney.

Another option is in Chatswood. There are many function rooms as part of bars (nice ones), restaurants and even the RSL!

You will need to spend time looking around and then make appointments to see them and discuss options.

Team activity ideas – corporate event in Santa Clara?

Posted by admin on March 9th, 2010 and filed under corporate event | 1 Comment »

Going to be hosting a moral boosting event for my boss and a team of engineers- ideas for a fun activity in Santa Clara? We’ve previously done laser tag and Malibu Grand Prix. I want something fun, not too expensive and popular…

You may want to have a look here: http://www3.telus.net/chase-games

Even adults can do find this competitive.

This site describes an Amazing Race party plan that is great for a birthday party, sleepovers, scavenger hunt, etc and is designed for kids aged 10 – 16. The “legs” of the Amazing Race party plan sell on eBay quite cheap (like $5). Good Luck!
